Today, the first day being home from our vacation... It's a day to catch up on the mail, laundry and just unwind and unpack! Dan and the kids haven't been home for a whole month. I, on the other hand have only been gone for 10 days. We had so much fun. I spent whatever time I could with Chrissy and her family. We also had a pool party with some good friends that we haven't seen in years! It felt so good to catch up with everyone and to see how big their kids have grown. We took a day to take Larry's (Dan's dad) boat out on the water. Dan, the kids, and I went to Ludington, Mi. for the day and took the boat out to Hamlin Lake. We took a few friends out with us and just kind floated on the water, played catch, and just plain hung out and caught up! It was a fun day!
The last weekend we were there we traveled back to Ludington to attend the Smith Family Reunion! I had a lot of fun!!! Friday we had dinner with a dear friend and cousin of Dan, Brian. We talked about EVERYTHING! I have learned a lot from him, and hope to see him more. (Even though he is a very busy guy) Saturday we spent time with the entire family at the State Park. It is so nice that everyone can come together this time of year. We played games and had lunch, and made our rounds to try and say 'hi' to everyone that came! Later in the evening we all met at Victory Town Hall. This is a place we get together to have dinner, discuss family business, and do something fun. This year we did a talent show! I didn't know so many Smith's had so much talent! ;) It was a great evening. We finished off our night at House of Flavors (Sweet little ice cream shop in Ludington). The Smith's brought the house down with a party of 47!!! Yes, I said 47! We showed up about an hour before they closed, and stayed about an hour after. Crazy night, but so much fun!
I love everyone that I saw, and some that I didn't have a chance to see! I will miss everyone soooo much.
Here we are, day 7 into my 10 day trip to Michigan. It sure doesn't feel like I have been here that long. So far, I have been able to see so many friends that I haven't seen in so long. Which include, Jake and Chrissy whom I haven't seen in YEARS!! Our friends for life! And like Chrissy has said, even though we don't talk much, we picked up right where we left off. I will truly miss them!!
Our next adventure takes us to Ludington, where the Smith family gathers once a year for their reunion. We are taking the boat on the water and then having dinner with someone so dear to my heart. Then wrapping it up with some family time, which includes lots of fun and games!! So, until then my frineds!
So, I am a little new to this blogging stuff, I have followed blogs of some friends for some time, but have never thought it was for me! I have never been good at writing ANYTHING!! I suppose I will be blogging about family, friends and just life... For instance, (in case you didn't already know) My family has been out for town for two weeks now!! Almost 1,000 miles away... and it is absolutely killing me. I have Skyped with them a time or two, but they are so busy with family that we haven't had much time to talk. (Maybe 3 times total) :( After living in Florida for the last 15 months I finally have some vacation saved up and a plane ticket to go be with them, and lots of other family and close friends that I miss dearly!
I also promise to update once a week, and post plenty of pictures (cause that is what I love to do)
